Discord - Child Warriors - 1988from the Droscid cassette - Crime
A 3-piece band from Charlotte, NC that I honestly don't know much about Dischord except that everyone says that their bass player was French. What that means or says I have no clue. Listening to this cassette this morning I can't help but think how popular they would be if they were doing the same thing today, and whatever happened to that slap bass style that was oh so popular back then as well. I wonder how many bass players were out of a job when that felt out of fashion.
Band Members:
Andrew Verville - Vocals, Guitar
Jim Rumley - Drums
Benjamin Marcellin - Bass, Vocals

Yep. He was French. I remember meeting him at a party after a Discord show in Greenville in 1988.
Benjamin Marcellin played bass for Dischord. The first time I saw him he was playing in a band called Gangrene (with Glen Tig of the Cosmopolitans Dance Troup which became The Cosmopolitans), opening for Jeffrey Dean Foster's band the Right Profile in 1981. Benjamin moved back to Annecy, France, around the late 80s/early 80s. Hubby and I visited him and his wife (Hubby's ex-girlfriend) in 1992. Last I heard they have moved back to the USA.
hey
i was the drummer. jim. i really want to get in touch with benjamin and andy. i've lost touch. talk to me.
Hey Mr Jim Rumley! This is Benjamin: bmarcellin@charter.net I would love to hear from you. Andy and I would like to play at a Boone band reunion next April in Blowing Rock, wanna come? I've asked everyone I know about you but I get no answer...
Jim went on to play drums in The Popes, which became Stumble, then the Lovely Lads, then, after a long hiatus, The Public Good. I could be wrong, but I believe that maybe Albert Nesbitt (the original drummer for The Popes) became the drummer in Dischord after Jim left.
