The Woods - Girlfriendsfrom the Twin/Tone lp "Its Like This" - 1987
Out of the ashes of The Fabulous Knobs Jack, Terry, and David teamed up with former Georgia Satellite Dan Baird to start the shortlived Woodpeckers. The Satellites had called it quits but were quickly signed to a major label deal so reforming was inevitable. Leaving Jack, Terry, and David without a singer (again). They decided to continue on as The Woods, eventually landing a record deal with Twin/Tone who released "Its Like This" in 1987. Today Terry and Jack have Terry Anderson and the Olympic Ass Kicking Team who just released a new album found here.

easily my favorite nc band from '85 until they disbanded in '93. my bandmate in the the hanks ron bartholomew split time with jamie hoover as the "4th wood" circa '91 - '93. the only nc shows of theirs i missed in those years were the western nc ones. i even caught 'em at clawsons in beaufort the night they debuted "battleship chains". david enloe continues to be one of my guitar heroes.
Hey Mike, don't forget that Terry, Jack and David also toured as Marti Jones' backing band in 1987, along with some asshole from Mississippi who played guitar/keyboards.
